Alpine Eagle have taken the engine and gearbox from the 1995 Volvo 940 GL (2.3 litre LPT) and installed it into the 406.  Old engine mounts removed, new base mounts created and original Volvo engine

This is a project history (blog) of the restoration and customisation of my Bristol 406.   I acquired the car from Andrew Blow in late 2006 complete but without an engine or gearbox (just as I wanted).  My aim is to create a 1960 personal car with 21st Century power package, modern braking and internal comforts that will be distinctive, but above all, a unique pleasure to own and enjoy.
