On the last Friday in July, Langholm Common Riding day, the Fair is cried from the back of a horse outside our meeting place, the Eskdale Hotel.
Langholm is just over the English/Scottish Border near what 400 years ago was "The Debatable Land," an area where outlaws and broken men, corrupt officials, greed, misery, arson, murder and raiding were commonplace. Things are much more peaceful now, and we would welcome you to tranquil Eskdale.
Tourists from all over the world come to this area, so we enjoy many visitors. Langholm members make sure that all Rotarians and visitors alike are made to feel at home.
Weekly meetings are held at 6pm on Thursdays in the Eskdale Hotel in the centre of town.

Two of the three who are at school. We gave them an exercise book (10 cents) and pen each. I have never seen anyone so happy.
