1 Samuel 26: 7-12
7 So David and Abishai went to the army by night, and there was Saul, lying asleep inside the camp with his spear stuck in the ground near his head. Abner and the soldiers were lying around him. 8 Abishai said to David, "Today God has delivered your enemy into your hands. Now let me pin him to the ground with one thrust of my spear; I won't strike him twice." 9 But David said to Abishai, "Don't destroy him! Who can lay a hand on the Lord's anointed and be guiltless? 10 As surely as the Lord lives," he said, "the Lord himself will strike him; either his time will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish. 11 But the Lord forbid that I should lay a hand on the Lord's anointed. Now get the spear and water jug that are near his head, and let's go." 12 So David took the spear and water jug near Saul's head, and they left. No one saw or knew about it, nor did anyone wake up. They were all sleeping, because the Lord had put them into a deep sleep.

When you think that God doesn’t tend to every miniscule detail in life, remember this story. There are possibly many more that make the point more eloquently that this, yet this one is the one that presented itself to me as I prayed for the Lord to handle the details in my life.
Saul had been hunting down David to kill him. When David learned that Saul was near, David took a pal & went to check things out under the cover of darkness. Low & behold, the ran across a sleeping Saul & Dave’s pal observes that this is the perfect time to put an end to the madness with Dave knocking off Saul.
Ahhhh. But our ever faithful Dave reminds us in this passage to trust the Lord. He refuses to kill Saul, despite Saul’s less than noble mission, and trusts that taking the life of the Lord’s anointed would be taking the Lord’s business into his own human hands & that leaving things to the Lord to finish would just be a better plan.
We all can & should trust the Lord in this way. When it seems the world is out to get us, we are called to trust that even the little details are under God’s most-capable radar. For heaven sake, he put to sleep the entire army surrounding & protecting Saul just so David could catch a peek and make a point.
When I think of my current situation, I realize that I need to be trusting the Lord for the big & little things. Details, details... all are His to care for & mine is to trust & follow a faithful path. If he can put Saul’s entire army to sleep (not to mention that deed he did for Moses with the Red Sea), then he can handle my little basket of junk.
