Went to walk the dog two morning’s ago to find a seal hanging out on my beach. Just never know what the Lord has in store for your day.
I ran in & woke the kids & we all ran down there intending not to miss a close up. Some campers beat us to the close up & this one is really of the seal hauling back into the sea. Poor guy probably was looking for a break but he just picked the wrong beach.
He left a giant squid on the beach for us to marvel and the gulls to eat. It was the perfect example for my kids to understand about larger sea life following the bait, which we’re told remains in our area because of unusually cool weather. Hence, the bait haven’t gone north & the squid are eating next year’s catch (the fishermen are predicting this but, who really knows) and the seal & whales & dolphins are partying right outside my window, feasting on fat squid & the like.
Plus, we also got to give them a lesson about keeping our distance from wild creatures. They watched the campers scare the crap out of the poor seal & really wished they could have watched him longer.
Only about a week behind on the bible in a year - for those keeping track. Thank heaven for grace!
