Log furniture made in Libby, Montana. Custom Log Beds, Log Tables, made by hand, one piece at a time. Hand-made log furniture. The materials I use to build my furniture and cabinets are Red Fir, Lodgepole Pine, and White Pine, all taken from my property in Montana or purchased from local loggers. All pieces are finished with a very expensive and time-consuming Hardwax/oil finish, that is as hard as polyurethane, but much easier to maintain. Most Log Furniture builders spray a lacquer finish which is totally inadequate for use on pine and red fir. It produces a hard outer shell that scratches and dents (breaks) easily and is extremely hard to repair. The Oil/wax finish that I use actually is absorbed into the wood and hardens, hardening the wood surface by approximately 25%. After dying, it is so safe, it can be used on children’s toys. It does not out-gas, making it the perfect finish for people allergic to plastics, and their associated out-gassing. Cabin Furniture, made in Montana.
