October Spotlight: Michael Chiklis

Michael Chiklis is probably best known for his award-winning portrayal of "Vic Mackey" on the hit FX television series, "The Shield."

Meeting Michael in person, one immediately notices his warmth and enthusiasm. In this photo, Michael was gracious enough to pose for a photo with Jackie's son, Jared Zabel, at an Academy of Television Arts and Sciences event.

Michael’s charity is The Children's Lifesaving Foundation which is dedicated to improving and enriching the lives of at-risk and homeless youth and their families. It provides financial assistance to help them move out of shelters and into homes.

Along with his wife, Michelle, Michael strongly believes in creating positive opportunities for disadvantaged youth. He often takes time out of his busy shooting schedule to help out at events and meet with some of these young people in need.

He pays homage this Greek heritage in a menu we've titled "A Walk on The Greek Side."

Morgan loves the Spanakopita and Jackie thinks the Baklava makes her want to break some plates in celebration! If you want to pick your own favorite, just CLICK HERE to order.

November Spotlight: Bob Saget

Besides being a father to three daughters, Bob Saget is a family guy as evidenced by his long run as Danny Tanner on the hit sit-com, “Full House,” and his host duties on the equally successful TV show, “America’s  Funniest Home Videos.”

Lately, his career has taken an edgier direction as he often parodies his wholesome image in guest roles and in his stand up act.

His sister, Gay, died of scleroderma and was the inspiration for a TV movie he made on her struggle with the disease called, “For Hope.” Bob proudly supports the Scleroderma Research Foundation.

  1. Bullet “I am very appreciative that a portion of the proceeds from this book will benefit the Scleroderma Research Foundation, a foundation on whose board I serve, which exists solely to find a cure for scleroderma, an often life-threatening, and prevalent illness that took the life of my sister Gay over ten years ago. Her son, my wonderful nephew Adam, also thanks the fine ladies who have put this cookbook together to help so many charities close to so many of our hearts.”

Bob’s contribution to “The Hollywood Cookbook” comes from his experience three years ago serving Thanksgiving dinner to 18 people at his home. The guest list included the late Rodney Dangerfield and a “turkey leg” but that’s all we can tell you now. You can read the whole story in the book!

Jackie and her husband Bryce are seeing our October spotlight celebrity “live” in Vegas later this month during the HBO Comedy Festival. CLICK HERE to get your Bob Saget recipes in time for Thanksgiving!
