April - July 2009

March 27-30- Rebecca’s brother David, Virginia and kids visit to visit So Cal. We had a short but very nice visit. Maxwell loves his little cousins Adriana and Asher.

April 14-19- Rebecca’s sister Darlene Goates and her kids came to visit MV. We loved having them and Maxwell was entertained the entire time with his little cousins McKenna, Tyler and Alyssa.

April 30-May 3- Evan, Brooke Millar and kids came to visit. We hit the beach and also went out to Rockin’ Baja in Newport and picked up cinnamon rolls from Balboa Island. We had a bbq and invited over some friends to join us- Mike & Laura Hall, Cameron Meldrum, Justin Holman and Ty Turley.

May 4-6- I took Rebecca and Maxwell with me to a work conference for the weekend in Monterey, CA. They had fun exploring during the day. We went to the world famous aquarium before returning. Maxwell loved the jellies and the sea lions. The last picture on the pier is kind of funny- he looks like he’s fat doggin’ it.

May 15- Our 1st Father’s & Sons outing. The next two pics are before and after shots. I took Maxwell for about an hour and a half. We both know our limits. lol

May 23- We went to Utah for Rebecca’s brother’s wedding. Samuel Rosenthal married Diana Carter at the Mt. Timpanogas temple. It was a beautiful sealing and they are a such a great compliment to each other. We enjoyed the time with family and friends as always. We visited my sister Sheri and her husband Erick. Maxwell had a good time playing with Bentley.

May 31- lunch bbq at our Tuttle cousins. Maxwell went on the trampoline for the first time and also had his first slam dunk. Mark was headed to San Antonio for an internship so it was good to spend some time w him before he left.

June 14- Rebecca made me my first pre-Father’s day meal. She made this amazing pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes that she got the recipe from Shera Mae Walker, in our ward. It was awesome!

June 19-21- Rosenthal family reunion in Utah. We met the Rosenthals at Zion Ponderosa lodge. It was a great weekend with the family. We got to spend a lot of time with my sister Marci, who is interning for the summer. We rode four wheelers, went on the zip line, swam and watched Dark Knight (HBO had it playing continuously all weekend). On the drive back, we stopped in Vegas for a Father’s Day meal with Wendy and Jim and the boys.

June 23- I took the day off and we took Maxwell to Disneyland for our birthday. They have an offer this year that entrance is free on your birthday and since Maxwell is under 2, it was free for all of us! Had we paid full price, we probably would have stayed longer than 3 hours but we had a good time. It kind of became a little game for me to see all the places that give things away for free on your birthday, most of which we did. We went to Baja Fish Tacos for free dinner, Coldstone for dessert, and then went to Red Robin for free dinner the next night and Sonic for free smoothies. It was our birthday stimulus plan. Email me for a list of all the free stuff people give away.

July 4- Mom, G&G Wren and Linda came out to visit So Cal and stayed w the Tuttles for the holiday weekend. We had some great meals at the Tuttles. Christie and Jory Shoell were there too and we had them over to Lake Mission Viejo for a picnic and also got in some ultra competitive games of Parcheesi. I was very happy to see Grandma getting so into the game.

July 11- we went to Lake Arrowhead with some of Rebecca’s friends from work for the day.

Maxwell just learning how to crawl right after they left and has loved his new found independence. I had to make a quick trip to Home Depot to get the materials needed to baby proof our house. The new project that we’re working on his hardwood floor installation. We worked on ripping out all our carpet and padding on the main level and this next week I will start to lay the moisture barrier and start gluing the wood down. It is a lot of work but we’ve enjoyed learning how to do something new. Everything I needed to know I learned on YouTube. lol

The last few pics are pretty funny- I gave Maxwell a bath for his first time in the regular bath tub and he loved it. The last two pics show him after he had crawled under the bouncer. He throws things into it then crawls in after it. It is prett hilarious until he gets upset because he can’t get himself back out. lol

Here is a little update on the last few months (my poor attempt at a blog)- Maxwell is growing and learning so fast. Rebecca is fantastic with Maxwell and he loves his mom. He loves swimming, whether that is in a pool or a lake. He just loves being outside. He is a social little guy and loves to be involved in whatever is going on. Everyone comments on his happy countenance and big brown eyes.
