Maksym Lozynsky (Sketchbook)

One day as I was walking home from school I found a box of notebooks an elementry school teacher had thrown out. I took several of the books and proceeded to use them for my sketches. I began to play games with myself, trying to disguise my own drawings and writings with that of the child's. I would play off certain phrases the child had written, or strange drawings that appeared on different pages. The title of the book, Maksym Lozynsky, is the name of the student whose book this belonged to. During this time I kept thinking about what Picasso said, how he spent a lifetime trying to learn to draw like a child, and here I was trying to confuse my drawings with that of Maksym's.
