My sketchbooks are more like visual diaries, combining words and images in a very personal way, rather than a traditional sketchbook that serves as a brainstorming device towards creating other work. My sketchbooks are destinations for my thoughts, feelings and frustrations. They are personal, but I think it is important to share this information. Knowing the mind of an artist is much more interesting than simply seeing his or her work as a final product.
