After 18 laps around Lowe’s Motor Speedway, one thing was clear to me - it takes a very unusual type of insanity to be a stock car driver.
Some of my co-workers and partners of ours went to the Richard Petty Experience on Dec 8th. Basically, you follow a professional race car drive around the speedway at near death speeds. Your ability to follow to get the spacing right (2.5 car lengths) and follow the exact car lines results in the speed you end up traveling. For me - the top speed was 136 mph....and it times it seemed faster.
What a terrific and terrifying experience - and it is without a doubt something I’d do again.
