What is Bridge to Malawi?

Welcome to the home page of Bridge to Malawi, a project of Kids' World Outreach Society a registered Canadian charity.

Bridge to Malawi is a Canadian response to the growing AIDS crisis in Malawi.  Today, 35% of young mothers in Malawi are HIV positive and in a country over 13.6 million people, there are approximately two million orphans.  It is our mission to provide a hope for the future to these children by offering them a better life today.

Bridge to Malawi, at this time, offers clothing, food, and hygiene items to those children who have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS.  Bridge to Malawi is now fully registered with the Government of Malawi as Kids’ World Outreach Society and is operating in the village of Bodza near Livunzu Trading Centre, in the Traditional Authority Makhuwira, in Malawi’s East Bank.

Located 27 kilometres off the main highway between Blantyre and Chikwawa, Bridge to Malawi endeavours to maintain the village atmosphere of rural Malawi and not force a Western style of life on the people.  We choose to maintain the beauty of the culture that is Malawian.   Each child will be given the opportunity to become a productive participant in Malawian life and culture and learn to enhance their own life, and the lives of those around them.

Check out the rest of our site to read more about who we are, what we are doing, and what you can do to help!

Giving Malawian children a hope for the future.

The  youth and seniors at Beddington Pentecostal Church in Calgary, Alberta, Canada filled a 20’ container with relief supplies including a tractor for our work in Malawi.  To get the container off the truck we had to unload it then tie it to a tree and drag it off the truck. Check it out!

Excitement! We’ve got vistors!                                    Our New Feeding Centre
