A life of pictures, gasoline and rooms in high places
What a weekend! I had no idea that I’d be doing a photo shoot in Atlanta... then Wednesday night my client and friend Dr. Sue Morter made a wonderful suggestion and offer over Wine and Pasta in Indianapolis... so I packed up a rental car full of photo equipment and headed to Atlanta at 3am!
After a 6 hour blur of breakfast in Nashville and cruise controI made it to the Westin just in time to shoot Sue as she went onstage for her seminar on Living Well. After an hour of shooting I realized I was burned out... so I rushed to the hotel... took a shower and had lunch at the 72nd floor restaurant.
Gazing out on Atlanta it dawned on me how much I missed the place. I hadn’t been there for a few years and had spent some quality time working on film projects there around the turn of the century. It is a wonderful town with a creative spark that impresses me every time I visit. If you’ve not been there... do so! I’d love to play there sometime... I can’t believe I haven’t.
Then after 2 days of solid shooting I whizzed back to God’s Country and took a nap! But it was a beautiful sunny day and I just couldn’t stay inside. Marta didn’t have to twist my arm to hard to get me to drive over to St. Meinrad Archabbey to take in the sites and a few moments of meditation and reflection. We popped in Sigur Ros’ “Takk”
and it seems like we glided over there.
So to sum it up... nothing much... 85 hours... 950 miles... typical weekend at the Briscoe house.
