• How is Halo Different from SPLENDA®? From Equal®?
Halo is organic and natural-based, unlike SPLENDA® and Equal® that are all artificial and synthetic. Halo’s active ingredient Erythritol is found naturally in fruits in contrast to Splenda’s Sucralose and Equal’s aspartame that are all synthetically produced.
• What are polyols?
Erythritol, Halo’s main active ingredient, is a naturally occuring polyol. Polyols are natural sugar-free sweeteners. Also known as Sugar Replacers, Polyols are carbohydrates but they are not sugars. They are used cup-for-cup [volume-for-volume] in the same amount as sugar is used, unlike acesulfame potassium, aspartame, saccharin, and sucralose which are used in very small amounts.
• Is Halo safe for Diabetics?
Yes. Halo is definitely safe for use for Diabetics. Having zero calories, Halo is definitely recommended in helping these people manage their weight. In addition, Halo has zero Glycemic Index rating, which means that it does not affect your blood sugar levels, making it safe for use for diabetics. • Is Halo safe for Pregnant women?
Yes. Halo maybe used in the diet of Pregnant women. It is especially helpful in helping these mothers control their blood sugar levels and in preventing Gestational diabetes.
• Is Halo Safe For Children?
Yes. Halo is recommended for use for the whole family. It can be part of your children’s healthy diet. In addition, Halo is tooth-friendly, helping your children prevent tooth decay.
• Where can I use Halo?
Halo can be used in all of your tabletop sweetening needs. Halo is highly recommended for use in all kinds of beverages, and cereals. For cooking and baking concerns, you may use the Halo “baking powder” for best results.
