I run a one-man editorial service from my home in a small town a bit north of Perth in Western Australia. Originally trained as a compositor in the days of hot metal, I offer everything from typesetting to editing to proofreading to arranging the printer. I am also the copy editor (and a consultant and columnist) for Australian Geographic, this country’s most prestigious publication of its type.
My work has encompassed everything from the design, typesetting and editing of books and magazines for publishers both big and small in Australia and overseas to on-screen copy editing for several large publications aimed at the global market to editing the autobiographies of a prominent sports personality and a Hong Kong businesswoman.
Then there’s the music, of course. I’ve been mucking about with blues and old-time music for donkey’s years and have no intention of ever giving it up as long as I can sing and play.
