Dogs Surprise Holy Cross!
(St. Catharines Feb 5)

Strong boards - shooting and heart saw the Dogs defeat H.C buy 11. Dogs have earned the rep as big game players - defeating Perry (New York) , Simcoe (St. Catharines) Eden and Holly Cross (St. Catharines). Congrats Dogs!

Strong boards and a pesky defense helped the bulldogs 
come out on top in this OT thriller vs Eden HS
(St. Catharines). 

Dogs defeat Simcoe in double header
action. - Jan 11 (St. Catharines)

Behind the shooting of WH and JK the dogs poured in 70 points to defeat the Governor Simcoe Redcoats (St. Catharines) 70 - 61 in Sr. Varsity action. The Jrs. posted a 59 - 38 victory.

DOGS KICK OFF THE 2008 -09 SEASON IN THE USA!

Both the Jr team and the Sr team hit the court in the USA taking on Letchworh HS and Perry HS (New York). Single digit losses by the Jr. and a Consolation Championship from the Sr. made the trip a great experience for the upcoming season. 













Two SWC Prospects to Compete in Ontario Summer Games
Ottawa - June 26, 2008
Two SWC grade 8 Prospects will be competing for Team Niagara in Ottawa next month at the Ontario Summer games. Team Niagara had a strong showing in Oakville last week.

St. Catharines - April 28, 2008
Top basketball players from across Niagara will compete for positions on the Niagara Midget Development Team Tuesday May 20 - 6pm to 9 pm at Notre Dame HS in Welland. The Niagara Team will travel to Ottawa Ontario to compete in the Ontario Summer Games. The team will be coached by Brock University standouts Scott Murry and Rohan Steen.

Young Dogs Continue to Learn

“It’s  great to see” - said Coach Bob. “We start 3 sophomores and a freshman - and we still compete. “Heck - our top grade 8 prospect scored 15 in Pennsylvania”. We expected this. “We just played top teams from San Diego and Arizona - what better way to learn”?

The Dogs come off of the exam break having suffered 3 loses to OFFSA powers Simcoe, St. Francis and Holy Cross. 
Dogs expect to have 7 on the honor roll!




Sr. Varsity DOGS Win Home Opener

SWC defeats Laura Secord as all 11 dogs see  action. 
Tenacious defense lead by WH and JG lifts the dogs to a 
31 -13 half time lead.

Sr. Varsity and Jr Varsity both post road victories over St. Catharines Collegiate Saints. 

For the Seniors four dogs step off the football field (City Champions) and four dogs step off the Volleyball court (SOSSA Champions) and get right into the season.

Tournament Invitations Pouring in for 2007 -2008!

Invitations from tournaments in Canada and the USA have been received. Of special note is the Hamilton Referees Memorial Tournament where the Bulldogs will be considered for a future invitation to The Silver Fox - one of the most prestigious tournaments in Ontario.

The Dogs defeated McKinnon Park in the opening             
round of the SOSSA final  and will face Orchard Park 
(Stoney Creek ON).

St Catharines ON - February 26

The Sir Winston Bulldogs capped a perfect 10-0 season with a thrilling 59-50 win over the Governor Simcoe Redcoats before a packed house in the SWC gym. The win clinched the city championship and a berth in the SOSSA tournament this Thursday and Friday.

The Dogs head into the city final having defeated Beamsville and Holy Cross last week. The final will take place on February 26 at Sir Winston Churchill in St. Catharines against Governor Simcoe Tip-off time is 3:30.

Dogs win Barrie Roundball Tournament
Barrie ON - February 10th
    


Dogs go 4-0 in the Barrie Roundball Tournament. The Bulldogs defeated O’Connor -(Ajax ON) in the final. The game featured 6 lead changes and was tied at 22 at the half.

The Dogs will compete in the Barrie Roundball Tournament February 9th and 10th. Dogs will face Sacred Heart High School (New Market  ON) in the opening round.





Dogs win Grimsby Tournament
Grimsby ON - February 1 and 2

The SWC Bulldogs won three games in a row to capture the Grimsby Eagle Jr. Tournament this past Thursday and Friday. The Dogs used team defense to create turnovers and fast break opportunities.

Four different Dogs found the mesh from beyond the arc while the SWC forwards controlled the boards.

SWC Bulldogs opened the 2006 season with Burgard -(Buffalo N.Y.) at the Niagara Catholic H.S. Tip off Tournament in Niagara Falls N.Y. Dogs went on to play Niagara Catholic - (Niagara Falls N.Y.) before a home and away series versus Wilson H.S. - (Wilson N.Y.) The Dogs later were in Pennsylvania where they took on Erie East - (Erie PA) and Warren H.S. - (Warren PA.) The Dogs hope to return in 2007-08!
