Welcome to the 'Home Page' of the Childwall Art Society, this is a new website for our group of enthusiastic artists who meet up every Thursday evening at the Childwall Sports Centre on Queens Drive in Liverpool, the class starts at 7pm and finishes at 9pm.
Hello, my name is Bob Hughes, as an artist and demonstrator I travel to various Art Clubs and Art Societies including small businesses in and around the North West and Central parts of the UK and North Wales demonstrating painting techniques, I am also the art tutor for CAS. Each month I will produce a painting demonstration for the class. There will also be a 'Class Demonstration' held each month where our artists' can follow my painting instruction, or they can carry on with their own artwork if they wish. Occasionally I run workshops at various locations, you can see details of previous and upcoming workshops on the Blog page. If your you are interested in painting activities in Europe, I have contacts in both Switzerland and Tuscany in Italy and can arrange a painting holiday (with myself as the art tutor) to suit you and your friends needs.
You do not have to be a member of CAS to take part in these workshops or painting holidays, but you will be missing out on being part of a friendly and helpful group of people. if you are interested in any future workshops or painting holidays which I will be posting as and when they come up, please use the Contact Form to let me know that you are interested.
On the 'Group Members' page is a collection of paintings by our artists, this page will be updated on a regular basis.
On the 'Monthly Demonstrations' page, I will post an image of what I will be painting, this page will also be used to post any other details or images that may be of interest for future demonstrations.
On our 'Links' page, there is a collection of web addresses that may be of interested to you, from time to time I will be updating/adding more links both for reference photographs and for art related tutorial including movies. There is an impressive link to the 'Google Art Project' which takes you on a virtual tour of major art galleries around the world, this will show you details in paintings you have never seen before. If you would like to see what digital art is all about checkout the 'Time Square' and 'Damen' paintings by 'Bert Monroy', he is the master of the medium. If portraits are your thing checkout 'A Stroke of Genius' where you will see a list of excellent portrait artists. Finally, checkout the links to the 'Complete Works of The Impressionist Painters' including 'Constable' and 'Turner'.
