Details of our next phase of service, our financially sustainable organic farm, which will serve as a Decompression Zone for our troops (active and veteran) will be available here very soon...
In brief the farm will offer short-term housing, employment, networking and counseling to the military community and fresh organic food and lifestyle information to the community.
The community (families) will be able to support their troops by pre-purchase of weekly delivery of fresh organic vegetables. It is called a CSA (google the words CSA) or Community Supported Agriculture.

Garden Project
History and Results

The Garden Project began to serve Marines, veterans and their families in June 2007 with the purpose of providing a safe, familiar decompression zone, for active duty Marines, veterans and their families.
The goal was to assist those affected by the extreme traumatic experiences of war and long-term deployments - commonly referred to as Combat Operational Stress or PTSD when clinically diagnosed.
The Triage Method of Emotional Therapy (TMET) was utilized in the garden as the process for promoting self-attunement and self-regulation, both have been shown effective in resolving stress and creating behavioral/emotional change.
TMET proved most effective when initiated in a contained, open-air garden/woodshop environment where active duty Marines and veterans had the opportunity to engaged in physical activities and social interactions.
Common Ground
a proposal and message

When it comes to issues of mental health - those fighting to defend our freedom of speech may have lost their freedom as members of our military.
As a psychotherapist in southern California I have served many Warriors dealing with issues of Operational Stress and the associated risk.
They are asking for something different, something to give them control of the situation, beyond the current process, which often involves “sucking it up”, accepting medication or being subjected to PTSD screening and an insult to their career.
Please take a moment to read my report and request for a collaboration on developing a Common Ground decompression center.
We need your help in supporting our troops on duty and as they transition home...

Straight Talk

Life is demanding!
Active duty, deployment and family separation certainly compound your potential to experience stress related changes in your mood and thought, and in your behavior.
Stress and its effects are not Mental Health!
Mental health is a result of “how” you hold and process life’s stressful experiences. The “how” is your body’s nervous systems job. It is an automatic job designed to assure your survival. Survival is not left to mental processes alone. The body holds this command!
Stress and its effects are Physical Health!
This fact is critical if you want to change (at least with any degree of efficiency) what has been changed by stressful experience.
