As you’ve probably guessed, one of my favorite magazines is Analog Science Fact and Fiction. John W. Campbell was the magazine’s editor when I first tried my hand at writing science fiction. He provided useful feedback and advice, as have later editors Ben Bova and Stanley Schmidt.
An early love of science fiction instigated youthful explorations of musty used bookstores for classic issues of Astounding, Amazing Stories, Planet Stories, Galaxy, Fantasy & Science Fiction, and others. I loved the covers and drawings by Edd Cartier Kelly Freas as much as the stories themselves.
