Today is supposed to be 98-100 degrees according to Leslie. I don’t really know what that means except it means HOT. You can’t do much running and hunting in this weather. I glad there are trees out there. I try to stay under them when I’m out there and it’s still hot! It’s dusty, too. I like making clouds of dust when I run. It’s really too hot to do much running so I save it for the important stuff. Hey, a street sweeper just went by! I’m indoors now so I can bark and not get too hot.
Leslie put a big metal bowl of water under one of the trees. “For the birds,” she said. For the birds? What does that mean? This is my yard. Yeah, I share it with Punch but I’m responsible for it. I don’t like having that thing around. It just attracts those birds and then I have to chase them out. If it were cooler out there, I’d be happy about it. Instead, there’s this bowl that smells like birds and squirrels! So, I fixed ‘em. I peed in the water. That sure shocked Leslie, too! She just kept saying, “You peed in the water!” Yeah, I know that. I did it, didn’t I? She washed the bowl out but it still smells like me. I keep checking it, just to make sure.
That guy across the street is watering his flowers. I guess he wants to fry them. I told him a thing or two. I bet he can hear me through the window. I barked loud enough!
