Well ... the conference is over for another year. Thanks to all that participated and the many speakers that provided quality learning opportunities. Special thanks to the Senator Gershaw staff who for those 2 days were perfect hosts   .....


We have decided the dates for the teacher2teacher conference for next year ... Thursday March 18th and Friday March 19th 2010.

This conference is for the classroom teacher to explore the many uses of technology for lessons, student learning and communication with teachers, students and parents. The conference will be held at Senator Gershaw School in Bow Island on March 26 and 27th, 2009. Registration is restricted to 300 so please don’t wait to register.


The majority of sessions are lead by classroom teachers who are currently implementing technology strategies in their classrooms

Gershaw School has access to 18 Smartboards, 200 computer terminals and 2 video conferencing suites ... a complete mac broadcast studio so this makes for an almost total hands on workshops. This year wireless internet access  will be available so bring your laptop


Cost

$275 for both days or $175 for a single day. This will give you access to as many as 8 different sessions. Registration includes lunch for both days and all morning and session break refreshments.


The staff  and Parent Council of Senator Gershaw School provide the time and effort to make this conference a success. Without their help this would not be possible.

Conference Information


Today the uses of technology within the classroom are impressive.


This conference is for the classroom teacher exploring the uses of technology in their classroom. This is whether for lesson preparation, student engagement, or communication ideas with parents, staff and students.


Sessions (where applicable) are hands  on and will have electronic files for teachers to take with them when they complete the session 


We also have a sharing fair, where teachers come together to share electronically their smartboard lessons. So if you have lessons,  bring them to the conference where they will put into a sharing folder for others to access.


Smartboard Technology: Smarttech which is the  the company that produces smartboards is a key sponsors of the conference. Many of the sessions deal directly with using Smartboard technology use in the classroom.

Medicine Hat is the closest major centre and is located 35 minutes west of Bow Island on the Trans-Canada Hwy.

Most of the major hotels are located in Medicine Hat at the Trans-Canada and Dunmore Road. This is the also the main shopping area with the mall and National Box Stores in the immediate area.
