JACK HARTNETT

 




A combat, decorated veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Jack Hartnett, began his acting career in his native New York. Amongst theatrical training, employed as Vice President of Medical Technology Products, Inc. and now participating in the US Marine Reserves he lands a lead role in an award winning independent film, “Friends, First and Foremost”.

   While continuing his multifaceted life Jack began working on NY based TV. Aside from multiple recurring roles on daytime serials he could be seen on the critically acclaimed HBO hit series “Sex and the City” playing opposite Golden Globe Award winner Kim Cattrall.

   Soon after, and thanks to fellow Long Island native, Alec Baldwin, Academy Award nominee, directs and acts alongside Jack with Academy Award winner Sir Anthony Hopkins in a comedy, “The Devil and Daniel Webster”.

   The infamous attacks of September 11, 2001 created lingering, residual effects on all aspects of Jack’s life. At times he had to avert his focus from his artistic endeavors to his other professional responsibilities. However, as soon as Jack was able to refocus to the acting he quickly obtained an instrumental role in “My Sexiest Mistake” a dramatic comedy movie on the Oxygen Network.

   From his stellar performance “My Sexiest Mistake” casting director Kathleen Chopin casts Jack in her next project, “Hitch”, the box office smash hit starring Will Smith, Kevin James and    Eva Mendes. Here Jack’s character, Tom Reda, brother-in-law to Eva’s character, adds the crucial twist to the romantic comedy.

   Later that year Jack appears in another award winning independent feature, “This Revolution”, starring Rosario Dawson.

   Mostly recently Jack starred opposite Erica Durance, from WB Network’s “Smallville”, in “Stranded” a Lifetime Television Movie.

   2007 marks the debut of Jack’s writing, directing and producing career. Predicated from his feature length script,” La Vida Blanca”, Jack costars and directs with Actress  Blanca Soto, a former     Miss Mexico, in an intense short film with the same title. The short

was awarded The Grand Jury Award Best Short at the NYIIFVF and Blanca was awarded the Best Actress in a short at the festival.

Subsequently, ITN Distribution acquired the short and has introduced “La Vida Blanca” worldwide.
