One solution that teachers using OS X from Apple is Podcaster Maker. Garageband from Apple can be used to create podcasts. PC computers have several software solutions for teachers and students to use. Audacity is free and it is wonderful. Our school purchased a new handheld H4 digital recorder. This device comes with a recording software package, however, the vendor we purchased it from left it out of the box and I have still not gotten a copy of the CD. So, if you buy an ZOOM H4 Handy Recorder, check for the CD.
