This podcast is one of the many sample iLife projects. It was produced during the initial mentor teacher training for Central Middle School's 1-to-1 Laptop Learning Program, July 14-17, 2008. Training was lead by an Apple Distinguished Educator and facilitated by Associate Superintendent Cindy Williamson of Whiteville City Schools in Whiteville, North Carolina.

Whiteville City Schools, under the leadership of Randy Shaver, Superintendent and Cindy Williamson, Associate Superintendent, and the Whiteville City Board of Education is about to shift our school. The introduction of Central Middle School’s 1-to-1 laptop learning program seeks to enhance to inspire the rising generation to reach the heights of their potential, ignite their curiosity to venture into challenging new learning experiences, and through service, empower them to be leaders who are committed to family and community.

Then, they can achieve their dreams and shape their world.

This video clip highlights a portion of the process underway in our district to meet the needs of our community.

i hanuman together with ganesha and garuda, i am one of the three major hindu deities i have animalistic physical features. i am loved all over india as the monkey-god who is so faithfully served by Rama , vishnu’s the seventh avatar, in his war against ravana, the demon king. i am the major deity in north india where i am regarded as a propitiator against all evil. temples to me have been erected all over that part of the country in each small villages and towns having their own shrine to keep the populace within the ambit of his able and benign prowess.

myth has it that i was one of the many creatures of the creators of the gods created to assist vishnu in his recarnation as rama. me the monkey god, i am the son of vayu, the wind god , and anjana,an apsara who was turned into a monkey by a curse . dasaratha, the king of ayodhya, a kingdom in the north india at that time, did not have a son and was advised by the holy men to perform a cemeony which he asked the gods to favor hi with one.he did so, with great pomp and piety, and was bequethed with a cake of divine origin that was instructed to share among his three queens. he did so but his second queen kaikeyi, was allotted her share last and took affront at his late treatment.

going back to the birth of me, it is found that the crow who stole the cake after kaikeyi threw it away flew with it into the forest. there it came upon anjana, in her cursed monkey form, performing worship. vayu, the wind god, was also fortuitously there at the moment and, seeing the crow flying past with the pice of cake in his beak, he blew an a strong wind immediately swept the pice of cake out of the crow’s beak and into anjana’s hands. vayu went away but was immediately replaced by shiva, who instructed anjana to eat the cake. she did so and conceived me, who is thus considered to be the son of vayu.

i am the monkey god,continue to roam the three realms, having granted immortality, ready always to bless those who propitiate in hope of succor from the evils of the world.

I am VIshnu the creator and the destroyer of all existences and the master of the past, present, and future. I am a four armed, dark blue god, holding a lotus and a mace. I am also described in the Bhagavad gita as having a universal form, which is beyond the ordinary limits of humans sense perception.

In the trimurti, I am responsible for the maintenance or preservation of the universe with the other roles of creation and destruction being under the care of brahma and shiva respectively. in the rigveda i i am mentioned 93 times. i am frequently invoked alongside other deities especially indra whom i assist in killing vitra and whom he drinks soma.

MY distinguishing charateristic in the vedas is my associatin with light or even my identifacation with the sun.

This is the first part of the project. Students researched their Ancient Ramayana Character and created their masks to reflect that character.
The second part is the final project. We will post the final photos of their project.
