Most of the time this is just about how my pack sits in the corner of my garage. It is generally packed with the things I need to get away from it all at a moment’s notice. Within minutes I could be out the door and onto a trail somewhere in the world. Problem is that I have to work most of the time.
 
Fortunately for me I love my work - it is almost like a hike in the wilderness at times. My students, my friends, and my family are the bits and pieces of a life - my life - but not wholly mine.
