From Woody’s Perspective

From Woody’s Perspective

Day 4 brought a new teacher and a new project. I spent the day with Judy Wise (She is an amazing artist and person) painting a floor cloth. I had so much fun with no rules, lots of paint, and BIG messes! Within 5 minutes my hands were covered in paint and I was in a creative frenzy.
After getting the base colors on my cloth I realized that I was working with the same color palette as my previous class. Not really too surprising except that I never use blues as a dominate color in anything that I create. Yet all of my Artfest work had blue written all over them. Weird, I won’t get all philosophical about it but I do have to wonder what was going on inside that head of mine!
It was great to just play all day, no interruptions, no real directions just paint what you want and seal it when you are done. A great change of pace from the previous two days of class.
The best part of the day though was after classes were over and we headed into Port Townsend with Sunny and Cheryl again. The four of us have become such fast friends. We shopped and ate, but most of all we spent the evening laughing. Nonstop laughter and smiles.
This is what I came to Artfest for, to hang out with other creative people. I had no idea that I would actually make such close dear friends. It was sad to say goodbye this evening, but we will keep in touch and plan to get together again next year for Artfest. I can’t wait, I am not ready to leave. I feel as if I entered a different world, one where I am truly me and I don’t have to do anything but create. Sign me up again!!
