Malawi Trip Schedule
Friday, Sep 18
morning - Becky arrives in Lilongwe and is picked up by Robert and/or Willie. Becky will lodge at Robert's house.
Saturday, Sep 19
12 pm - Team arrives at Lilongwe airport and is picked up by Robert and/or Willie along with Becky
afternoon - Team eat lunch on route to Hotel (Cresta Lodge - approx. $36 per night per room), the 9 of us will be staying here while in Lilongwe.
evening - devotions and early to bed
Sunday, Sep 20
morning - travel to Robert's church
9 am - 10 am - meet with children for Sunday school (approx 30-50 students ages 6-13)
10 am - 11:30 am - church service (we can preach, sing, and do whatever)
afternoon - lunch with church (serving beef or goat to ~400 people - cost approx $250)
late afternoon - soccer tournament game
evening - devotions and dinner at Robert's house
Monday, Sep 21
visit ChristCares (ChristCares after school program will probably have ~45 kids ages 13-19)
Tuesday, Sep 22
morning - visit children's homes
afternoon - visit local high school and speak with kids
Wednesday, Sep 23
travel to and visit Peter's home village
Thursday, Sep 24
visit with YouthCare / SafeHaven - possible work project
Friday, Sep 25
visit with YouthCare / SafeHaven - possible work project
Saturday, Sep 26
morning - prep for soccer game
1 pm - 5 pm - final soccer playoff game and presentation of awards
Sunday, Sep 27
morning - drop off 4 at airport for departure
10 am - 11:30 am - church with Robert
Monday, Sep 28
visit Rise Malawi
Tuesday, Sep 29
morning - travel to Zomba
afternoon - visit with an orphanage
Wednesday, Sep 30
provide food for orphanage
work project at orphanage and/or school - painting
visit with hospital
Thursday, Oct 1
morning - leave for Lake Malawi, Salima area
evening - we will be staying at Kambiri Lodge ($70 per room - room accommodates 2 people - cost includes breakfast)
Friday, Oct 2
return to Lilongwe
evening - back to hotel or staying with Robert, Peter, and/or John
Saturday, Oct 3
morning - arrive at airport for 1pm departure
