One day in the life of a child can make a huge impact on her future.

One caring adult can create an unbreakable bond with a vulnerable child that will last

        throughout his lifetime.

One Boys & Girls Club can offer hope to an entire neighborhood.

One gift from you can open the door to a brighter tomorrow for more of our children.

Ways You Can Help

Did You Know that Portage County, WI has the highest rate of both parents working in the USA (Wall Street Journal Oct. 2006). Couple this with FBI research reporting that the most dangerous time of day for young people is between the hours of 3-8pm. We have a significant need for Boys & Girls Club programs in our community.

It is our organization's strong belief that One Day in the life of a child can have a huge impact on his future. One Caring Adult can create an unbreakable bond with a vulnerable child that will last throughout her lifetime. One Boys & Girls Club can offer hope to an entire Community. One Gift from you can open the door to a brighter tomorrow for more of our children. Are you the One?

Please consider a donation to our "It Just Takes One" campaign to continue our mission of inspiring and enabling all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring community members. Because our membership fees are only $10 per youth per year, it is through donations to this campaign that keep our doors open to hundreds of kids.

The Boys & Girls Club has been working hard for the past 6 years to meet the needs of our community, but much work needs to be done. The following is a short list of the Club's highlights in the past year:

  1. Over 300 youth participated in our 2007 "Youth of Portage County" Fine Arts Exhibit. Five participants were chosen to have their artwork displayed at the Boys & Girls Club of America National Exhibit.

  2. Launching of the Gateway Report Center - an alternative, non-secure placement for referred youth ages 12-17 in an effort to reduce recidivsm rates of juvenile offenders in the county.

  3. Teen membership in 2007 alone exceeded 750 youth.

  4. The 2007 Battle of the Bands event, promoting fun, free of alcohol and drugs, won 1st place among over 4,000 Boys & Girls Clubs in the country for program excellence in social recreation among teens.

By pledging your support to the "It Just Takes One" campaign you are making a long-term investment in the development of our young people and our community.
