Lower Whitewater Falls- November -06
Lower Whitewater Falls from a look-out  area FAR away!
Lower Whitewater Falls flows into Lake Jocassee.
The Autumn colors were awesome!
Betsy enjoyed this viewing area.
Another picture of the falls in the distance, and the colors
We hiked on a trail for 5-6 miles to get closer to the falls.
George is ready to begin our hike.
But first--we MUST take some more Autumn pictures.
A close-up of the colors surrounding the lake
And another gorgeous picture
On the road toward our trail-head
Wow---the colors along the trail were magnificent!
We made it to the look-out area close to Lower Whitewater Falls.
There were only two others on the trail besides us.  This place was OUR paradise!
Lower Whitewater  Falls drops 200 feet!!! It was AWESOME!
Can you see the falls behind us?  We set up the tripod to take our picture together!
Now Betsy has to pose in front of the falls.
Now it’s George’s turn.
Two more of Betsy!!!  Mercy!
Betsy didn’t want to leave our own special place here!
Back on the trail,  we LOVED the colors.  This red tree was awesome!
Betsy enjoyed hiking --and looking at the Autumn colors above her.
More Beauty!
We just kept  seeing the beautiful colors during this hike.  It was amazing!

We picked a PERFECT day to hike in South Carolina on November 9, 2006.  There were still alot of Fall Colors (as you can see) in that area.  We hiked about six miles total during the day--and other than it being a little too warm for Betsy (ha),  we had a marvelous day.  We hope you enjoy our pictures.
