To complete our vacation in the Alabama area,  we drove home  (1/13/07) by way of  the Tracy City and Monteagle areas of the Savage Gulf in Tennessee to visit FOUR waterfalls in this area (Foster, Small,  Horsehair, and Monteagle).
Joyful Reflections
The first waterfall we saw is called Small Falls.
Small Falls is in the Foster Falls Wild Area of the South Cumberlands.
Betsy was happy since we didn’t see Small Falls on our last trip.
George knew exactly where to go in order to find Small Falls.
We hiked the Fiery Gizzard trail in order to see Horsehair Falls.
On this bluff,  we could see Foster Falls from ‘above.’
George enjoyed this hike --on this side of the canyon.
A picture of both Foster and Horsehair Falls.
We hiked back--and are now looking at Foster Falls from the other side.
Look across the canyon!  That is where we were before coming here.
George is glad that we could see Foster Falls from several angles.
We hiked down into the canyon to the base of Foster Falls.
Foster Falls is 60 feet high and is framed by a gorgeous ‘bowl.’
This is the bottom of Horsehair Falls.
George hiked closer to get to the bottom of Horsehair Falls.
Betsy sat and enjoyed the canyon and the falls. Awesome!!!
George took this close-up picture of Foster Falls.
It was dark in the canyon, but we wanted a picture together!
Now George smiles because of the beauty all around him!
This is a good picture of Foster Falls with the sun peeking through.
We hiked on private property to find Monteagle Falls.
Monteagle Falls drops 30-40 feet into Bridal Veil Cove.
Betsy said,  “Let’s go!!  I want some KFC liver.”
“O-kee-dok-ee!!!  I want some KFC chicken myself. Let’s go!”
