Quick Overview of this site:
My main love is books. In 2000 I began writing summaries of books read. These I have placed on this site. Hopefully these may be of use to someone.
I have taught High School Latin since 1976. I have tried to combine what I have read with what I present in the class room. I have taught all of the AP courses: Catullus/Ovid, Catullus/Horace, Catullus/Cicero and Vergil. The syllabus for each course, including syllabi for 1st and 2nd year are on this site.
I have learned to love poetry and the poetry in prose in English via Latin literature. Before beginning the AP courses I started to use literary devices as a means for discussion and analysis in the class room. I found some definitions difficult to understand. I made my own list.

For two weeks in June this year, Mr. Prueter led his first ADULT trip to Italy. Many parents of former students, along with other interested Chesterland area adults participated in a unique, hands on, learning experience. While spending the majority of their time in Rome, the capital city, small trips were planned to Ostia, Sorrento, Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Florence. Trip participants visited the world famous Capitoline, Vatican, and National Museums as well as the historic ruins of Roman fora, baths, and marketplaces. Read what recent participants of Mr. Prueter’s Italy Trips have to say!
