Crochet Emo Cap

Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn (shown in Caron Simply Soft) Size J Crochet Hook Gauge: Size: Ladies Small Abbreviations: ch = Chain DC = Double Crochet sl st = slip stitch Chain 4, join with sl st to form ring. Round 1: ch 3, 2 DC, ch 1. (3DC, ch 1) 4 times. Join with sl st to ch 3. sl st into the top of next 2 DC, and ch 1 space. (5 sets of 3 DC). Round 2: ch 3, 2DC in same ch 1 space, ch 1. 3DC, ch 1 in same ch 1 space. *(3 DC, ch 1) two times in each ch 1 space, around. Join with sl st to ch 3. sl st into the top of next 2 DC, and ch 2 space. (10 sets of 3 DC). Round 3: ch 3, 2DC in same ch 2 space. *(3DC, ch 1) two times in next ch 1 space. 3DC, ch 1 in next ch 1 space. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to ch 3. sl st into the top of next 2 DC, and ch 1 space. Round 4: ch 3, 2DC in same ch 2 space. *3DC, ch 1 in each ch 1 space around. Join with sl st to ch 3. sl st into the top of next 2 DC, and ch 2 space. Repeat row 4 until hat is desired length. For my daughter and I, who have small heads, that is 10 row 4’s. For a slightly larger hat, chain 2 instead of 1 in between each set of DC on round 4. Final round: work one row of reverse single crochet (crab stitch) around. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
