Today is my birthday! I’m 33! Yeah - I think... Andy, Sam, and I celebrated yesterday because we all had the day off due to the holiday - even Sam. We went out to lunch to a rib joint and Sam did really well. Mom and Dad were able to eat together - at the same time! : ) Then we went out for ice cream - which doesn’t always happen at this time of year. I did try to take a little nap in the afternoon while Sam was sleeping. Except Sam didn’t want to sleep. He would cry every 10-15 minutes for an hour - at which point we cried uncle. Then while Andy went to school to take his midterm, Sam and I went for a walk around the neighborhood, sat on the front stoop, and then played a little. It was a good day. Today, I took the day off of work and had a nice day to myself. After Andy went to work and Sam went to day care, I did some things around the house and then went shopping! In the afternoon, I got a massage! Sam had given me a gift certificate for a 90 minute massage on Mother’s Day and I finally had a day to use it! It was very, very nice! Then I picked up Sam and he promptly fell asleep on the way home. While he slept, I repotted our plants on the deck and brought them inside for the winter. Again, it was a good day. Everyone should have a day off once in a while. It’s wonderful for your sanity and sense of well-being!
