Horizon

There are two meanings of the word “horizon” that are equally appropriate for the spirit of this section of INSIGHT.

First, “what’s on the horizon” connotes a view of what the future might hold. An article written in the spirit of this metaphor could be an extrapolation of current conditions or a best guess of where we are headed if we stay the present course. Of necessity, such ruminations are speculative in nature and tentative in their conclusions—but ideally, still worthy of our consideration.

Second, “a beautiful horizon” connotes a majesty or beauty that elicits reverence. An article adhering to this connotation might “paint a picture” so moving that it evokes deep emotions from the well-spring of humanity or draw analogies so powerful that divinity’s hand is clearly made manifest.

In either case, such an article is meant to expand the mind or inspire the heart—and with heaven’s help, both.
