Popular Fiction Writer for Children and Adults Alike! Sian was born in Cambridge, England, but grew up on the island of Anglesey off the coast of North Wales. When she was eighteen, she left Wales to attend BYU, where she graduated with a Bachelor degree in Communications. Sian’s love of writing began in her Welsh secondary school, where the English teachers had their students write and write and write. She continued this practice at BYU by writing articles for the Ensign, New Era, and Liahona magazines. Only after her fifth child was born did Sian try her hand at writing a novel. It took about a year of stealing time during her baby’s naps to complete her first book, Forgotten Notes. Since then, she has had seven other books published by Covenant Communications. Spending time with her family, traveling, and cooking are some of Sian’s other interests. If she tastes something she likes at a restaurant, she’ll invariably go home and try to recreate it. In the Bessey home, it is well understood that dinnertime often means trying a new recipe—but since the taste testing sometimes involves yummy desserts, no one has complained yet! Sian Ann Bessey
