Berkeley then at Stanford Resarch International, Engelbart pioneered such firsts in computer technology as the mouse, display editing, windows, cross-file editing, idea/outline processing, hypermedia, and groupware. Awarded the National Medal of Technology, the highest honor given to America's innovators by the U.S. President
