I remember when i invented or pioneered movie night. After recently discovering the benefits of the Projector (Hal 9000), the rest of the guys, in their limited vision, were displaying iTunes Visuals with our already exhausted selection of Wednesday night "Headsets" songs on Davis's ceiling and Wiener's face. Just as I had invented Classic Rock Gambling to cure the boredom of Wednesday night, I quickly began to envision a better use of our "hangout" time.
I remember seeing Ben's screen saver of his indy movie, "Black Eyed Sue" projected and thinking "Oh, god. Here we go. They've found a way to make our Wednesdays more painfully boring and self-serving to Davis's ego. He can make us sit through his movie again, but projected on his ceiling for all of Sunset Blvd. to view." I asked if that was the case and Davis calmed my fears by stating it was just his computer screen saver, but threatened it was possible to view his movie.
Then it hit me. "So we can watch classic movies the way they were meant to be viewed every time we get together on Wednesdays?"
"Or Porn" Coolbaugh chimed in.
After more consideration we all took to the original idea of classic movies. I came up with the format and, I'm pretty sure, everything else, except Davis who has done an amazing job on the web-page. I'm always thinking and looking to the future to see where Movienight can next be improved and our lives enriched.
“You see that house? That is where I was born. My mother said to me, ‘Garcon. The world is a beautiful place, and you must spread joy and contentment everywhere you go.’ And so I became a waiter... Well, I know it is not a great philosophy but...
Well, fuck you. I can live my life in my own way if I want to.
Fuck off. Don't come following me.”
