Dr Benjamin Drew
I am a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical and Motorsport Engineering at the University of the West of England, in Bristol. My teaching responsibilities include a range of first-year engineering modules, as well as Dynamics, Vehicle Dynamics and Control Systems Engineering at higher levels.
Before starting at UWE in January 2010, I was a Research Officer at the University of Bath, working in the Centre for Power Transmission and Motion Control.
My PhD thesis was focused on the design and development of the active tilting system for a tilting three-wheeled vehicle (click for abstract). This work was conducted as part of my work towards the EC-funded research project entitled CLEVER (Compact Low Emission Vehicle for Urban Transport).
My others roles while at Bath included investigating the use of Kalman filters for fault detection and isolation in aircraft fuel systems, and conducting scoping research into Wave Energy Converters and Efficient Fluid Power Control systems.
