My Story
 
 

Master's Commission has put me in a position to not only grow in my relationship with God in an extravagant way, but also to grow in the way that I interact with people. Before I was in Master’s my focus was on me and how I could make myself look better. After going through a lot of junk the first part of the year, God stopped me in my tracks and really pushed me to love people in a selfless way. Once I turned my focus off myself and on the countless people I interacted with, I was blown away with how God revealed his character and love to me. I now look for opportunities to impact the people with God’s love everyday, because I realize they are the most important thing. It is amazing what God will do when you stop focusing on yourself.

2nd Year

Coming into Master's, I was very insecure and knew how to settle for less. My past haunted me and I didn't know how to deal with it. I was a mess that didn't find a lot of purpose. I was saved when I was a little girl but didn't actually begin a relationship with God until the summer coming into my first year of Master's. When I got to Master's, God began to heal all the parts of me. All of the things that I had been told as a little girl growing up in the church began to make sense. Through Master's Commission, God showed me what it looked like to be a fighter, his daughter, and what it really means when He says that He loves me. He has also shown me what happens when relationships with people are done right and how vital they are in my life.

2nd Year

I have learned so much about leadership here in Master’s Commission.  Before I came here I always tried to force things and do it on my own.  I never understood why the people around me would never open up and tell me things.  But through this year God has taught me that its not about me, its about just loving people, and letting God lead me in leading them.  I have learned that its not how you lead, but how you love that makes a difference.

Be A Part

This year at Master’s Commission has been one of the best years of my life so far.  I have learned so much about leadership, how to have real, genuine relationships with other people, and more on how to be a Godly leader/role model through working with the youth.  I have grown a lot deeper in my relationship with God by being able to spend time with Him everyday, serve, and worship him in many different ways.  Personally, I have come more out of my ‘shell’ and become more confidant in who I am.  I am going to be able to take everything that I have learned and experienced this year with me so that I can now live a more realistic-Christian lifestyle!

I’ve grown up in the church as a pastor’s kid, knowing a lot of things about the church and who God is to the church and its people. But coming into Masters Commission I’ve learned to transfer what I know into what I believe and to find out what God means to me personally. I know without Masters Commission I would never have been able to become the leader I am today. There are so many practical things that masters applies that I use in my everyday walk with God.

Masters Commission has totally turned my life around!  Coming into Masters Commission, I was insecure, fearful, and unaware, but God has begun to make me into the man He wants me to be.  A man who is secure in God and not what I can do or accomplish in my own ability.  The program has revolutionized the way I live my life helping me realize that God absolutely has a plan and purpose for me.  Not only that, but Masters Commission has practically given me great resources and experience to go after what God has made me passionate about. I would recommend it to absolutely anyone!
