From our family to yours:
Dearest Friends and Family,
It is with the profoundest sense of pain and sorrow that we must report to you today. As we had been fearing for quite some time, yesterday morning, Sunday, October 2nd, 2005 at 7:30 am our sister in Christ, Jennifer M. Powers embarked on her passage into life Eternal. As most of you know, Jennifer suffered irreversible brain damage as a result of a traumatic skydive accident on May 8th, 2005. After five long months of the most gruelling fight for a qualitative recovery, and after the tremendously heroic efforts of the dedicated physicians and nurses at the Washington DC VA Hospital, Jennifer has finally gone Home to be with her Savior. As Christians, we firmly believe Jennifer is now in a place where pain and suffering exist no longer. We envision her as completely restored and renewed. In Heaven she has been made whole again. Jennifer passed peacefully, bravely, gracefully… surrounded by the many close family members who have been praying and caring for her ever since that first horrible day last Spring.
We know that each of you hold special, fond memories of Jennifer, uniquely shared by you and by her. These are bonds that cannot be broken by death. They will live on with you until you meet Jennifer again. We encourage you to share these with our family. We will be putting together a scrap book of email memories to share with Jennifer’s mother, father and siblings. They will be of great comfort to us at this time. You may use the same email address at the link on this website. We want each of you to know how much support you have been to Jennifer, and to us, with your messages of hope and love, your Faith in the Good Lord, and your shoulder’s to cry on.
I think each of you know that Jennifer would want you to keep your chins up, bravely moving forward, with your eyes to the sky. She would want you to achieve your grandest goals and continue to reach for the stars. She would be proud of each of you, in all that you do. This is not the end for Jennifer, nor for us. It is but a new chapter of a life that has been forever changed and uplifted simply from knowing Jennifer M. Powers. She has graced us all with her love and spirit which will be reflected in us from this day forward.
Go in peace friends!
All our Love,
The family of Midn. Jennifer M. Powers
