Who is WOMAN AND MAN?
It’s me, Gina Beavers, and the artists who have shown on the site. I make decisions about proposals and will also invite artists I know to get involved.
Who is she again?
Funny you should ask. I am an artist (darknever.net) in New York. I have been living here since graduating with an MFA in painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2000. I curated a show, Permanent Present in 2007 in Brooklyn. I’m really excited about the opportunity to create a space, literal and figurative, for people to exchange ideas and whatever else they want to.
What does WOMAN AND MAN mean?
Everything. Nothing can happen without woman and man, or some combination thereof. It’s people working together. Don’t take my word for it, read the Ween lyrics up and to the left, that inspired the name. By the way, Ween is no way involved in this project, other just being an awesome inspiration.
What kind of work are you looking for?
That’s very open, digital images of any and all mediums are accepted for consideration. Check the submit page for details. After there are a couple shows posted, you can check those out to get an idea...You can also check out the work on the links list.
