About Bead Beach

Bead Beach is jewelry is created by me, Patti Robinson, in Westhampton Beach. Every piece is one of a kind. I’ve been teaching jewelry making classes on Long Island’s East End for six years. I love sharing ideas in my classes and find my students to be an inspiration as well.

I have a BFA in Art and have worked as a graphic designer for most of my career. I also teach art and crafts to children, and I’ve tried practically every craft known to mankind. A few  of my favorite things are art, small dogs, hip hop dance, British mysteries, photography & design.

Mission: Inspiration!

This website is created to be a source of inspiration and information for beginners and experienced beaders & jewelry designers. I’m always checking our new jewelry design books, magazines, website, sources for supplies and all kinds of inspirations.

My own designs are posted as well to give you a range of ideas using the basic techniques of wire wrapping, crimping, knotting, bead linking & incorporating chain. So learn a few basic techniques, practice a lot, buy way too many beads and even get a little obsessed.

Oh, and start an inspiration scrapbook of ideas you find in magazines, catalogs & online. Don’t worry too much about  coping a design -- just use it as a jumping off point and you will inevitably make it your own.
