The Chasms of Cerberus

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter sends another stunning image, one that fits in the category I call “I’d like to hike that.” This half-mile-wide chasm in the Cerberus Fossae region of Mars may once have spewed lava, or water, or both. Turn up the brightness on your monitor, and you can peer into the shadowed areas.
