On the right is Saturn’s spongy moon Hyperion in visible light. On the left is a view of the moon in ultraviolet light as seen by Cassini’s Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrograph (UVIS) Instrument. The UV scan reveals clues to the moon’s composition. In this image, the bright areas correspond to water ice that was exposed in the impact that dug the huge crater on the moon’s face.
