I have been inspired by my sister to take some pictures of my children. She has been sending me links to photographers websites with incredible pictures of children.
 Well, I have a camera. I have beautiful children. I should take more pictures of them.

sledding at carter park

Today a friend called and invited us sledding at a local park in Breckenridge. We had very warm temperatures, and beautiful sunshine. Our sleds are lame, but our friend brought her sledding tubes.

The kids slid at great speeds from the fence at the “top” of the hill all the way to the building behind them in the picture above.

They had a great time, but next time we’ll have to bring our helmets... and buy tubes for our family! Thanks, Deb!

roof snow

This year has been different in that we have huge amounts of ice buildup on our roofs. We have more snow than usual, but just a little more. The difference this year has been the number of sunny days, colder temperatures, and less melting time through the season. We are so used to our blue skies, and we are just realizing how much we are missing them now that we have them back.

So, when we noticed a few drips on our side porch this week, it was time to remove some of the ice and snow buildup on our roof before we had damage to our freshly painted exterior. We shoveled as much snow as possible off our front roof just in case.

Friday update: I am happy to say that after 3 days of sun, and lots of snow removal, we have a dry porch.

powder day date

Bill has been very busy this winter writing a new book and has not had much time out on the slopes. Well, he finished his first pass at the book late last week and now he’s able to take a break once in a while to ski!

Today was an incredible day to go skiing. We have had about 14” of snow in the last 2 days, and there was boot deep powder everywhere!

Andrew watched the children and Bill and I went skiing for 3 hours! We had the best time skiing on the black runs through the boot deep powder. We just laughed as we skied.

We definitely have to do that again. :)

goodbye baby emily & family

Well, today we said goodbye to our friends after a great week together. This week we just relaxed together and enjoyed movies, games, food and playing in the snow.

The girls were so sad to see the baby go. They all loved feeding baby Emily and just being mommy’s for a week. Jacob is sad to see his hat and sword buddy go too.

HERE are the pictures we took on Saturday. We hope to see them out here again, but on vacation in the summer!

coppelia ballet

Today I took Anna and Sophia to the Colorado Ballet performance of Coppelia in Denver. The day before opening day, the Colorado Ballet does their final dress rehearsal for school groups for a discounted price. I was so glad we went, and look forward to taking the rest of the family next year.

cast changing day

It has been almost 4 weeks since Isaac broke his leg. Today he graduated to a below the knee cast! He was VERY excited and VERY ready to bend his leg. He has been a trooper through this broken leg ordeal, but it’s good to be able to move a little more now.

His leg still needs more time to heal, but it is improving. I took lots of pictures this time. Check them out HERE.

Is this #7? Not exactly... Our friends from MD adopted a beautiful baby girl this week and are staying with us during part of their visit to Colorado. We are so happy they finally have her in their arms, and we are enjoying sharing this special time with them. You can read their adoption story here.

The girls, especially, are taking turns holding and feeding baby Emily. All of our children are LOVING having another baby in the house.

So, we are spending our days together, playing with Emily’s big brother, and taking care of Emily.

We finally made a front page on our website for all of our iPhone games. It has a link to each of our games. It is a good start. I still have a lot to learn about html and css. :)
