Needed are a good tripod, an indexed tripod head, a good digital camera with wide angle lens 15 - 18 mm and of course a sophisticated Stitching application. Sometimes 56 photos are seamlessly assembled into a complete sphere where you can look all around as though you are inside a ball. The images are small to save download time.
