Space Camp
Space Camp
The students of Berry College Middle School (5th- 8th graders) went to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama for three days, and two nights. After a three hour bus ride, they went to the habitat, and went to their rooms. They met there counselors, Joseph and Melissa, and started their Space Camp journey.
They began their time at camp by going through the museum of space history. They learned many things about space and space exploration. Later that day, they rode the MAT simulator ( multi axis trainer) that spins in all different directions. Then they built model rockets which would be launched the next morning.
On the second day, they started out by launching their rockets. Though some failed, it was VERY fun to watch. After lunch, the teams started their mission, which is like launching into space, and staying in space, whether you are in the space shuttle or in mission control on Earth. Though it was nerve racking, it was a very fun experience.
On the last day, both teams from Berry College Elementary School graduated from Space Camp, and returned home.
The teams: Aquarius: Tessa, Kenned, Kaylan, Julianne, Ryan, Adam, Charles, Bailey and Dylan
Casper: Himara, Rosa, Marissa, Camden, Hussen, Lucas, Bryant, and Andrew.
