holiday memories

Beatrice and I are safely back in Calgary following our trip to my family’s home in Ontario for the holidays. The trip was brief, barely comprising four days. Much, however, was packed into our itinerary to maximize time with family, yet by the end of our stay, I think everyone felt some level of discontentment with the briefness of our visit and activities left undone.

In whole, it was a wonderful trip. Christmas at home is a special time: it’s one of those rare experiences in life that is just as precious and magical as ever, even in spite of time’s effect on my maturity and senses. This year was no different. Opening gifts, conversing with family, and enjoying meals together have yielded lasting memories.

It’s nice to be back home in Calgary, too. Beatrice and I still have a few days remaining in our holidays from which to glean some rest and otherwise have fun now that it’s just the two of us once again.
