the burden of a high-rise apartment

Beatrice and I are both sufficiently ill this weekend that I doubt we will step foot outside, and that is an awful fate to which to resign ourselves. Indeed, the weather is favourable today: sunny and warm. I want nothing more than to enjoy the day--be it from the saddle of my bicycle or on a jaunt with Beatrice to a local coffee shop. Perhaps we can muster the strength to do the latter, but I fear our wheezing, sniffling, and coughing would serve only to build resentment among the other patrons at our being there. Stay home we must, where from our perch we can watch the merry folk enjoy the day as they walk and drive to and fro on the streets below.
