James Malinchak: Two time college Speaker of the Year
Co-Author: Chicken Soup for the COLLEGE Soul and Chicken Soup for the ATHLETE'S Soul
When Jim Matthews speaks about alcohol and its use and abuse in our society, we should all listen. This is not a 'how to drink' book. Rather, this book provides low-risk drinking techniques for students who live in the collegiate culture. While Jim affirms the state law and a student's right not to drink, he offers Tips for those who do choose to drink in an informative, research based, non-judgmental way. Each of my four children will have a copy of this book, and while I trust each of of them, I WILL NOT wait until they are 21 years old to give it to them. Thank you Jim for this important work.

Jim Matthews has written a book about alcohol and college students that should be read by every student, faculty member, and student services professional. Utilizing the input and self-reported behaviors of hundreds of students nationwide, Matthews has written a clear, concise and challenging critique of the role alcohol plays on campus. It will help students avoid impairment due to alcohol and will make a significant difference in the perception of those who read it. I recommend it wholeheartedly!
