BAY CITY--- So many inspirations, so few available muses! Degas painted dancers. Da Vinci sketched remarkable expressions from a single smile. Now it’s your turn to fine-tune the artist inside.
Bay City Arts Center is bringing back Adult Life Drawing Open Studio on the second and last Wednesday of the month, beginning May 28th from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Cost is $15 at the door and prepay punch cards are available beginning the first session at 5 sessions for $50.
The life drawing sessions are open to the public; however, due to the comfort of the models, BCAC is only opening this class up to artists over 18 years of age. (Special permission may be granted on a case-by-case basis.)
The models will vary from session to session, and the three hours will be broken into the first half hour of quick sketch warm-up, followed by two longer sittings. Suggested supplies are as follows: newsprint pad, charcoal, pencil, and/or watercolors. There is room for most other mediums, from clay to canvas, space providing and depending on the number of participants. Come early to be set up and ready to create by 6:00 p.m.
For those artists who would like a more formal instruction, BCAC has the honor of one of our newest board members, Jason McAlexander, volunteering to lead lessons, give helpful tips, and coordinate the studio time.
